Should You Eat Coffee Grounds?
You may find that the idea of coffee is unpalatable, but it is full of antioxidants, also called food phenolic compounds. These compounds promote heart health, perhaps more than drinking coffee.
Antioxidants fight free radicals in the body which can cause cancer. It also helps protect our skin from aging process.
Antioxidants can be found in many fresh foods. For example, spinach, beets, red cabbage, artichoke, kale, berries, strawberries and pecans. Even dark chocolate is a source of antioxidants. In fact, it contains more antioxidants than blueberries and berries. If you eat cocoa-rich products like dark chocolate, they can lower your blood pressure.
Coffee is also useful for other things, so don’t waste it. If you don’t really think you can eat it (and why you should?) There are many things you can do with them.
In the garden, coffee grounds are an excellent insect repellent and nutritious to plants such as roses. It is also compostable and you can add wood ash or lime to the foundation to produce a really good compost. If you have a pile of fertilizer, add coffee to it because it is rich in nitrogen. Worms seem to be attracted to the ground so the soil in your garden will benefit from their activity.
Did you know that carrots only love coffee? If you mix your coffee with carrot seeds, it will increase its growth. You’ll get bigger and better islands than ever before.
You can use the grounds at home too. It absorbs odors, so if you put some in an open container, the smell of food will neutralize in the fridge and refrigerator. You can happily leave the container for a few weeks and the reasons will continue to work its magic.
The surfaces are removable, so if you have stubborn stains on your kitchen counters, you can spray some surfaces on a cleaning cloth (preferably an old one ).You can clean the counters without damaging them. You can also use it to clean dishes that have stains that are difficult to change.
If you make your own candles, you can add bases for wax and make scented candles.
You can even use coffee sofas to peel your skin or make a face with it. If you add surfaces to warm water and add natural oil, you’ll get an excellent scrub. For the face blend, try mixing two tablespoons of ground with the same amount of cocoa powder, a tablespoon of honey and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream or whole milk.
There are many uses for coffee, so don’t get rid of them even if you don’t want to eat them!
