4 Things That Make a Good Coffee Shop
I have traveled all over the country. With every place I visited, I had my favorite drinks, coffee, in many different cafes. I have never had anyone stop at the nearest coffee chain to fix coffee too. I’ve always been the one to search for “Mom and Pop”. The places where her personality is formed by owners, employees and those who frequent the shop.
Here are the top four things that I think create a character in the cafe and make it the same.
For me, music can affect anything. Your mood, your energy as well, your cafe. Music can greatly enhance or completely destroy the character of the cafe. I feel that the cafe should be consistent in the type of music that its customers play. If quiet music plays one day, but with dance music the next day, customers may not know what to expect. While diversity can be great, attracting a consistent type of customer base may not work well if store music is very diverse. A perfect example of inconsistency is when one of my favorite cafes constantly watches electronic music and then one day he gets upset with vulgar rap music. I had to leave so I could finish my work.
Friendly staff is very important. My daily shop is related to about 50% of the fact that I know the staff and feel comfortable in the store. They know my name, what I drink and everything about me.
Joe’s store is everything. It was created by people in it, music, store design and art on the wall. All of these things work together to create energy and vitality. Personally, I like consistency. Also, I love the combination of comfort with an eclectic feeling. Photos, paintings and collectibles are some of my favorite things. Also, here is one important, temperature. It seems that one of the most popular coffee chains I can think of wants to freeze its customers by lifting the air conditioner. This is a great way to destroy everything.
Since I’m talking about what makes a coffee shop “good”, I also need to talk about what I personally think is one of the most important factors in owning it. Actual coffee and products offered. Are there only three items offered? Is coffee really good? Is he too weak? Does she have a bad taste? Is there coffee that matches every order?
What are your thoughts on what makes a good cafe?
